Ring with labradorite “Whisper of the Moon” – size 11.5
This labradorite ring looks like a piece of the night encased in silver. In the center of the setting is an elongated, almond-shaped labradorite, which sparkles in intense shades of purple, pink and blue. The stone reacts to light and the movement of the hand, so its color changes depending on the angle of view.
I created the form of the ring by hand in soft jewelers’ wax, allowing the structure to develop organically. As a result, the setting is not perfectly symmetrical and retains a natural rhythm. When cast in sterling silver, the whole piece gained a character reminiscent of tangled roots or dragon bones, which entwine the stone and hold it steadily in place.
The setting does not dominate the labradorite, but emphasizes its depth. Instead of smooth surfaces, there are irregularities and delicate refractions of light, which give the ring a raw, sculptural character. This is jewelry in which you can see the process and the trace of the hand.
Labradorite has long been associated with intuition, protection and inner strength. It is often chosen by those undergoing change or seeking greater confidence in themselves. In this design, the stone does not act as a literal symbol, but as a silent companion – present but unobtrusive.
