Silver ring rock – led by form
This silver ring rock was created without a ready-made plan. I first carved it in wax, relying on intuition and attentiveness, without a sketch or imposed assumptions. I let the form guide my hands, so every structure and crack appeared naturally. Only later did I cast the whole thing in silver.
Working with wax helped to preserve the raw and organic character of the ring. After casting in silver, I worked out the details sensitively, without smoothing them by force. As a result, the surface resembles a rocky structure – heterogeneous, full of micro-details and traces of the process. It is these irregularities that make the mold look not like a product, but like a fragment of matter frozen in time.
At the points of contact with the skin, I smoothed the form to make the ring comfortable for daily wear. The expressive, sculptural surface is combined here with comfort. On the one hand, the ring retains rawness and power, while on the other it remains gentle in contact with the body.
Satin light and oxidized depth
The satin finish makes the silver not shine obtrusively, but reflects the light softly and calmly. Oxidized fragments deepen the texture, creating contrast and bringing out the relief. As a result, the silver ring rock resembles a piece of rock surface bearing traces of time and natural processes.
In the classical sense, it is not decorative jewelry. The perception of this form is based primarily on the touch and feel of the material, rather than shine or ornamentation. As a result, the presence encapsulated in the metal does not need stones or glitter to remain expressive and meaningful.
